Artisans 21 recently reopened the arts and crafts co-op storefront that has been a Hyde Park staple for nearly 50 years.
“We’re awfully glad to be back,” Rob Borja said. “This is one of the most astonishing co-ops I’ve ever been in.”
Artisans 21, which sat in Harper Court for four decades before the building was demolished to make way for the new development, has set up shop at 5503 S. Hyde Park Blvd.
Artists currently showing their wares include Anne Arnas, Deborah Dancy, Dorri Ellis, Anita Garrison, Joy Rosner, James Zalba, Borja, Tzvetan Tochev and Barbara O’Conner.
Space is available for three more artists to display and sell their artwork and Artisans will be accepting applications through Nov. 15.
Work on display and for sale from Hyde Park artists, including calligraphers, jewelers, weavers, ceramicists, knit wear, wooden toys and more.
Artisans 21 is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
