Dedication ceremony for the University of Chicago’s new hospital building
A dedication ceremony for the University of Chicago’s new hospital building, the Center for Care and Discovery, was held Monday. Dignitaries, including many from Hyde Park, attended the discussion of the economic impact of the new facility.
State Rep. Barbara Flynn-Currie (D-25) attended, and state Sen. Kwame Raoul (D-13) along with Ald. Leslie Hairston (5th) were scheduled to speak.
The hospital is hoped to improve communication between researchers and providers, and cost $700 million at 1.2 million square feet.
