The 23rd Annual Quilt Show and Sale will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The United Church of Hyde Park, 1448 E. 53rd St.

The exhibition features more than 200 quilts, according to organizer and longtime congregation member Tracy Lampkins, who will have several of her own on display. Visitors will be given booklets detailing the quilts and be able to purchase some of the wares, she said.

Lampkins says the show is “really open to anyone who wants to display a quilt,” and that submissions are not screened to adhere to any particular genre. “There’s a wide variety.”
“I just think it’s really fun to see what everyone has put together,” she said.

In addition to viewing the show, visitors can take fabrics offered there with them and submit their creations using the materials to the next year’s event, according to Lampkins.

Admission is $6 per person and food and drink will be available for purchase in the church’s tea room. Proceeds will go to repairing the church’s Skinner Organ, Lampkins said.
