Civil rights icon Angela Davis coming to HP

Civil rights movement figure Angela Davis will present the Center for Race, Politics and Culture’s (CSRPC) Annual Public Lecture from 7:30-9 p.m. on Friday, May 3, at Rockefeller Chapel, 5850. S. Woodlawn Ave.

The lecture by Davis, a distinguished professor emerita at the University of California, Santa Cruz, is entitled, “Feminism and Abolition: Theories and Practices for the 21st Century.”

Davis ran as the vice-presidential candidate on the Communist Party USA ticket in 1980 and 1984 and was affiliated with the Black Panthers.
