Jackson Park council to mull landscaping

The Jackson Park Advisory Council will join representatives from the Chicago Park District to discuss possible landscaping in the park on Monday, May 13. The Chicago Park District is considering a landscaping renovation, potentially funded by a federal program.

A spokesperson for the CPD confirmed the work would be federally funded, and said the potential work would include “landscape restoration.” An e-mail from a CPD historian sent to Hyde Park locals suggested the department hopes to hear from people interested in preserving the park’s history.

The meeting will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Jackson Park Fieldhouse, 6401 S. Stony Island Ave.
