A showcase featuring the artwork of students from several schools in the Hyde Park neighborhood will take place on May 31. The exhibit is free and open to the entire community.
ArtShould is a children’s arts program, which was founded and is run by students from the University of Chicago. The students recruit volunteers from its campus to run after school arts programs in neighborhood schools including Ray, 5631 S. Kimbark Ave., Bret Harte, 1556 E. 56th St., and Kozminski, 936 E. 54th St., elementary schools.
ArtShould is inviting the Hyde Park community to a student gallery night from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Friday, May 31, at the Logan Center for the Arts, 915 E. 60th St.
Art pieces include portraits, collages and a slide show presentation of work from students at all of the schools that the U. of C. students work with.
