The University of Chicago named Shaz Rasul its director of Community Programs. The position was recently created to support community-based initiatives.
Rasul will help local non-profits by connecting them to U. of C. faculty, students and staff who can provide support or aid for their causes. His position will focus on assisting non-profits in Hyde Park, Kenwood, Woodlawn, Washington Park, Douglas, Greater Grand Crossing, Oakland, South Shore and Grand Boulevard.
The position will be a part of the Office of Civic Engagement.
Rasul previously worked as the director of the Neighborhood Schools Program. He will continue to work with NSP occasionally.
