The longtime dean of the University of Chicago Graham School of Continuing Liberal and Professional Studies announced his retirement last week.
Dan Shannon has been dean of the school since 1996. He will formally step down from the job at the end of June 2014.
A faculty committee chaired by Deputy Provost for Research Roy Weiss will search for Shannon’s successor on a national level. The committee will provide recommendations to the provost and the president who will appoint the new dean.
