A tour of the 1893 World’s Fair grounds will take place in Jackson Park on Saturday, July 20, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The tour will be led by retired Chicago policeman and historian Ray Johnson and will begin at the Clarence Darrow Memorial Bridge, located behind the Museum of Science and Industry, 5700 S. Lake Shore Dr.
The tour will visit the former sites of several fair buildings and end at 63rd Street’s Statue of the Republic, according to Jackson Park Advisory Council president Louise McCurry, whose organization is hosting the event.
The tour is the second in a series of 1893 World’s Fair walks that began last Saturday. Another one will occur in early August and a fourth is likely to take place later that month, according to McCurry.
