Gloria Henderson, former owner of Glorious Confectionery, a popcorn shop once located at 1551 E. 51st St., filed a complaint June 20 with the Circuit Court of Cook County against her onetime landlord, Metra.

Henderson, whose five-year lease for the space located under Metra’s train tracks ended April 30, claimed her store lost $50,000 in sales while it was closed as a result of a leaky roof and that her landlord “promised to maintain the common elements” of the store.

Metra was summoned to appear in court Aug. 22 at the Richard J. Daley Center, 50 W. Washington St., where Henderson planned to represent herself without the assistance of a lawyer.
