Lincoln Park boutique Comfort Me is establishing a temporary location in Hyde Park, joining Harper Theater, 5238 S. Harper Ave., and Kilwins Chocolate, 5226 S. Harper Ave., in inaugurating the space near the new Harper Court development.
The retailer’s lease runs through January, and Vice President Alyssa Thomas says Comfort Me is looking to move into Hyde Park permanently if things go well.
The boutique sells clothes and gifts, calling itself a provider of “retail therapy.”
“It was my mom’s idea to start the business and she’s a family therapist. It was her idea to sell things that comfort people. You can buy gifts to comfort people or you can buy things to comfort your home, and clothing-wise we look for things that are comfortable as well,” Thomas said.
