The 24th annual African Festival of the Arts will run from Friday, Aug. 30 to Monday, Sept. 2. Located at 5100 S. Cottage Grove Ave., the festival features performances and art centered around the cultures of Africa.
Headlining the festival, which draws visitors from across the nation, is Grammy-winner Brandy, or Brandy Norwood, who performs Monday, Sept. 2 at 8 p.m.
Daily admission is $20 at the entrance to the festival. Advanced tickets are $10 and can be purchased through Thursday at several locations, including What the Traveler Saw in Hyde Park, 1508 E. 55th St.
