A mental health clinic in Woodlawn that was a flashpoint of local controversy when it closed will be reopened within 60 days, Ald. Willie Cochran (20th) said Saturday.
Thresholds, a private mental health provider, will provide mental health services at the former Woodlawn Mental Health Center, 6337 S. Woodlawn Ave. The closure of the clinic last year sparked protests, vigils and an occupation of the site.
Cochran’s announcement was made at a University of Chicago community meeting on Saturday, Sept. 14, in the Washington Park community at the Arts Incubator, a U. of C. art space at 301 E. Garfield Blvd.
