Three stores celebrated their opening in Hyde Park last week.

Ulta Beauty, a salon and beauty retailer, celebrated its grand opening on Friday at 5228 S. Lake Park Ave., after a week-long soft opening.

Ulta is one of Harper Court’s anchor tenants.

Sir & Madame, 1504 E. 53rd St., also opened its doors to shoppers. Sir & Madame is run by two native Hyde Parkers, Autumn and Brian Merritt, who first met when they went to school together at Kenwood Academy, 5015 S. Blackstone Ave.

The couple opened their first store in Ukrainian Village three years ago. They design many of the clothes they sell in the store.

Hyde Park’s shop is on a six-month lease, though Brian Merritt said he would like for the store to become permanent resident of 53rd Street.

Independence, a men’s clothing store based in the Gold Coast, opened its doors at 1506 E. 53rd St.

The retailer offers American-made men’s clothing and accessories.
