A staged reading of selected works by a young Hyde Park playwright will take place at Augustana Lutheran Church, 5500 S. Woodlawn Ave., at 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8.

Rachel Baker, daughter of Hyde Park Community Players President Paul Baker and a junior at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, will read from five plays she penned.

The event is the second in a planned series of monthly staged readings Paul Baker expects to hold at Augustana Lutheran Church.

“It’s kind of an incubator for all of the different aspects [of] performance,” Baker said.
Tickets will cost $5 at the door. For more information, visit hydeparkplayers.org.
