Office tenants will begin moving into Harper Court this week, just ahead of the project’s grand opening.
Administrative personnel from the information technology services, alumni relations and facilities services departments will all begin moving into the office tower, 5235 S. Harper Ct., on Nov. 7. The moves should be complete by mid-December.
The university will also begin running a 53rd Street express shuttle to help alleviate congestion to and from campus.
More than 350 employees will work in the tower once the move is complete.
Those office workers will also have another option for lunch once Chipotle Mexican Grill opens its doors to patrons on Nov. 6.
Chipotle offers burritos and Mexican food. The company has a vocal commitment to sustainability and hormone-free meat. The 53rd Street location will have a liquor license.
An official Harper Court ribbon cutting ceremony will occur Friday morning.
Grammy-winning pop star Estelle and DJ DaveHenry will perform at the grand opening from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday night.
To attend the event, the public is asked to enter Harper Court via east 53rd Street or South Harper Avenue.
