Former Congressman Mel Reynolds in trouble again

Former Illinois 2nd Congressional District U.S. Rep. Mel Reynolds was deported from Zimbabwe last Sunday, after pleading guilty Friday to a visa violation but being dismissed on charges of pornography possession.

Reynolds was arrested in Zimbabwe’s capital city Harare last Monday.

The disgraced ex-Congressman and onetime Rhodes Scholar – who resigned on the heels of a 1995 sexual assault conviction – ran in last year’s special election to replace Jesse Jackson Jr., coming in at 8th place with only .8 percent of the vote.
