Chicago Police have warned residents of robberies that have occurred in March on the 4700 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue and the 200 block of East 35th Street.

In each incident, the offenders approach a victim from behind and attempt to take their property. Chicago Police said multiple offenders will strike the victim’s hands and feet during the event.

The robbery on the 4700 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue occurred at 4:35 p.m. on March 14. The robbery on the 200 block of East 35th Street occurred at 4:45 p.m. on March 11. The offenders are described as five or six African American males between 13 and 16 years old.

Chicago Police recommend that when walking always be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious activity immediately. Remain calm if you are confronted by an assailant, and remember any unique physical characteristics such as scars, a limp, acne, etc. Never pursue a fleeing assailant and provide any information to the police. If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information. Dial 911 immediately and remain on scene if possible.
