Sit-down restaurant Porkchop opened in Harper Court last Monday.

The restaurant, 1516 E. Harper Ct., specializes in barbecue, Southern fare and whiskey and also serves breakfast. It had its soft opening this week, which will be followed by a grand opening in April.

The location is Porkchop’s second, joining another on the Near West Side.

Once the restaurant has its grand opening, all of the items on its menu will be available, including blackened fish tacos, fried ribs and barbecue sliders.

Porkchop is open from 7 a.m. to midnight from Sunday to Wednesday, 7 a.m.-1 a.m. on Thursdays and from 7 a.m to 2 a.m. on Fri and Saturday. Hours may be extended after the grand opening depending on business.
