Max Allender passed away March 5, weeks before his second birthday.

The young Hyde Parker, who was born at 26 weeks with his twin Coral, went on his first outing last August with his mother, to Bixler Playlot, 5641 S. Kenwood Ave.

The family is asking for funds to pay for Max’s funeral expenses through the Max Isaac Allender Memorial Fund. A public service was held for Max on March 9 at Oak Woods Cemetery, 1035 E. 67th St., with Rabbi Frederick Reeves of K.A.M. Isaiah Israel presiding.

“It was very sad,” said Max’s grandfather, Skip Allender. “He had become a very happy, lively young man running down the hall, [pushing] his cart with his breathing machine. And it was all of a sudden that he got sick and died.”

“He was just learning how to walk and he was getting much better at it,” said mother Jessica Allender.

Contributions to the Max Isaac Allender Memorial Fund may be sent to 6116 S. University Ave, Apt. 1S, Chicago, IL 60637.
