Jackson Park will play host to a new music festival beginning later this year, courtesy of Chicago-based rapper Common.
The annual music festival, dubbed AAHH FEST!, will take place on Saturday, Sept. 20, and Sunday, Sept. 21, at 6300 S. Hayes Drive.
Common made the announcement Wednesday at the Museum of Contemporary Art, alongside rapper Che “Rhymefest” Smith and Donnie Smith, executive director of Donda’s House, a youth arts non-profit founded by Kanye West in memory of his late mother. Andrea Zopp, executive director of the Chicago Urban League, was also there to discuss The Chicago Youth Jobs Collaborative, a new youth employment program developed by the Urban League, Donda’s House and Common’s non-profit Common Ground Foundation.
The festival lineup has not yet been announced, but the second day will feature Chicago acts chosen by Donda’s House.
