Frank Lloyd Wright’s Frederick C. Robie House, 5757 S. Woodlawn Ave., will be open Friday evenings in October, offering an opportunity for those interested in Wright’s Prairie-style masterpiece to view the building in a different light.
October After Hours at Frederick C. Robie House will take place from 5p.m. – 8 p.m. on Oct. 2, 9, 26, 23 and 30. Beer, white wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served as pianist Ryan Brewster entertains attendees with performances of pop and jazz standards.
While usually only available for guided tours and private events, Wright’s 1910 Robie House includes a balcony with geometric leaded glass doors, private third-floor bedrooms and an innovative open living room space. These areas will all be available for exploration during October After Hours.
Admission is $30 for Frank Lloyd Wright Trust members and $35 for non-members. For more information and to purchase tickets visit flwright.org/programs/afterhoursrobie.
