Boy Sexually Assaulted on Cornell

The Chicago Police Department (CPD) has released an alert to citizens in the 2nd district following a sexual assault incident that occurred Saturday morning, March 4.

A boy was walking on the 5100 block of South Cornell Avenue at about 7:45 a.m. when an unknown offender approached him. According to CPD, the offender spoke to the boy and then touched him inappropriately.

The offender is described as a Black male with a light complexion and a gray goatee between 30-40 years old, 5’11, 200 lbs., wearing a beige jacket, dark pants, and black hat.

The CPD has asked residents to be aware of their surroundings, walk in pairs or groups, to report suspicious activity immediately, to never pursue a fleeing assailant and provide information to the police.
