One Earth Film Festival to host screening at St. Paul the Redeemer Church

The One Earth Festival arrived over the weekend in Hyde Park.

Tuesday night, March 7, St. Paul the Redeemer Episcopal Church, 4945 S. Dorchester Ave., will be showing “Can You Dig This?” The film explores the urban gardening revolution taking place in South Central Los Angeles, one of the largest food deserts in the nation.

Following the film, there will be a discussion including action opportunities that will be shared by local resource organizations.

The One Earth Film Festival has been in existence for six years. The Festival selects acclaimed environmental films with compelling messages that bring awareness to the public.

Other venues that will be hosting screenings include Ida Noyes Hall, 1212 E. 59th St., the Museum of Science and Industry, 5700 S. Lake Shore Dr. and Harper Theater, 5238 S. Harper Ave.

The Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce and the South East Chicago Commission are co-sponsoring the festival in Hyde Park.
