Comer Service Committee hosts 50th annual Irish Coffee Benefit

University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital Comer Service Committee will host its Gala 50th Annual Irish Coffee Benefit from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday, March 11, at Augustana Lutheran Church of Hyde Park, 5500 S. Woodlawn Ave.

Attendees will be treated to real Irish coffee and delicious homemade cakes, cookies, and savories while they bid on an array of raffle and silent auction items including a Handmade Quilt, two tickets to the World Champion Chicago Cubs vs. the New York Yankees game and “A Night out in Hyde Park” package.

During this golden year celebration the committee will honor those who have been a member for 50 or more years. The committee will also honor State Rep. Barbara Flynn Currie (D-25), who is the honorary chair of the Irish Coffee, and Cook County Board President, Toni Preckwinkle, who has been a long time supporter of hospital.

Proceeds from the Irish Coffee event will help fund activities and pilot projects for patients and their families at the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital, 5721 S Maryland Ave.
Entrance fee is $10, and raffle tickets are $5 each or 6 tickets for $25.
