Car stolen from man on 5500 Block of South Kimbark

A car was stolen on Saturday, March 18, on the 5500 Block of South Kimbark Ave. The victim was walking to his parked car at 4:05 p.m. when he was approached by three unknown individuals. The victim was struck by two of the offenders, causing him to drop his car keys. The suspects picked up the keys and drove off in the victim’s black Acura SUV and headed southbound on Kimbark Avenue.

The victim declined medical attention. The suspects are African American youths between the ages of 16 to 18 years old, range in height from 5’7 to 5’9 and each weigh about 140 pounds. One was wearing a red baseball cap and red coat. The other two suspects wore black coats.

The Chicago Police Department is investigating. Police are asking residents to be aware of their surroundings, to not resist an armed robbery unless absolutely necessary and to walk in pairs.
