Duke Otherwise last children’s musician of the season at Hyde Park Farmers Market

There is one more opportunity for parents to bring kids to the Hyde Park Farmers Market for a live children’s musician performance before the market season ends.

The weekly Downtown Hyde Park Farmers Market is held at Harper Court, 5235 S. Harper Court, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursdays until it ends on Oct. 26. Duke Otherwise, a Madison, Wis. -based musician, is scheduled to perform at Harper Court on Thursday, Oct. 5, from 9:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.

Otherwise is a wordsmith, performer, guitarist and tap dancer, according to his website. He uses his baritone singing voice to sing hilarious and imaginative songs including his recent single “Brussels Sprout Shout.” Otherwise plays nearly 150 show a year and has performed in libraries, schools, living rooms, churches, theaters, festivals and fairs.

During his performance at the Hyde Park Farmers Market, his two CDs “Beehives & Bedheads” and “Creepy Crawly Love” will be available for purchase.

Robert Burford the local “Bubble Man” will be spreading joy with bubbles from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Other musicians who will be performing on Oct. 5 include Aaron Smith on banjo from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and Phil Passen on dulcimer from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
