Michael Davenport, MD, and Paul Jones, MD, Named to Chicago List of Prominent African-Americans in Medicine

Mercy Hospital & Medical Center Chief Medical Officer Michael Davenport, MD, and Chairman of Cardiovascular Medicine Paul Jones, MD, were honored as two of Chicago’s most prominent African-Americans in medicine on Thursday, November 16 at the Harlem Fine Arts Show opening night gala.

The theme of this year’s Harlem Fine Arts Show is “Health and the Healing Power of Art.” The Harlem Fine Arts Show is the largest traveling art show that profiles achievements in 
the arts, education, healthcare and economics of the African diaspora. 

Dr. Davenport earned a medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and completed a residency in internal medicine at John J. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County Hospital. Dr. Davenport is board certified in internal medicine. 

Dr. Jones, a nationally known interventional cardiologist, earned a medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, completed a residency at Mercy Hospital & Medical Center and received advanced training in cardiology and interventional cardiology at Loyola University Medical Center. Dr. Jones is board certified in internal medicine and interventional cardiology.
