Globs, Goo and Guts!, a hands-on educational event will be held on August 1, 2 p.m. at the Blackstone Library, 4904 S. Lake Park Ave.
The event, which has been circulating through various Chicago libraries since June will provide participants with “real, relevant science” taught by science educators and scientists, explains program director Anne Zahn.
Children will be guided through the systems of the human body, learning about the digestion, respiratory, circulatory and nervous systems. Preserved animal organs such as pig lungs, sheep hearts, and brains will be studied and touched (with gloves!
The event is recommended for children eight years and older. Registration is required and can be made through the Blackstone Library.
