The Newberry Consort: Playing with Fire. Cornetto virtuoso Bruce Dickey joins the Newberry Consort for music from the Italian late Renaissance and early Baroque, a time of dazzling pyrotechnics, sublime poetry, and gorgeous harmonies. This concert honors the memory of University of Chicago musicologist and Consort founder Howard Mayer Brown, who did seminal research into the ornamentation styles of the late 16th and early 17th centuries.
