OI offering free talks on Egypt

A series of free talks sponsored by the Chicago Chapter of the American Research Center in Egypt will take place at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, at the Oriental Institute, 1155 E. 58th St.

The lectures will include: “Epigraphy and Conservation of Tell Edfu Block Yard — A Report on the 2012 Season,” by University of Chicago Ph.D. candidate Janelle Wade and Ph.D. student Jonathan Winnerman; “The native development of the so-called ‘Persian Costume’ represented in Late Period Egyptian Art,” by Aleksandra Hallmann, of the University of Warsaw; and “Spatial analysis of Sealings within the Nubian Fortresses,” by Susan Penacho, a Ph.D. candidate at the U. of C.
