Preckwinkle seeking reelection

Cook County Board President and former Ald. Toni Preckwinkle (4th) is running for her second term in her current office.

Preckwinkle was elected to the board in 2010. She served the Fourth Ward as alderman for four terms.

Preckwinkle told supporters on Tuesday, June 11, that she sought another term to reform county adult and juvenile detention systems and to encourage more Cook County residents to get into the forest preserves.

Preckwinkle said if she were reelected she would serve the full term and not run for mayor in 2015.
