A new Vietnamese restaurant will be opening on 55th Street early next year.

Entrepreneur Vince Srisak expects to open Pho 55 in mid-January. The casual dining restaurant is now under construction at 1611 E. 55th St., directly to the east of Thai 55 Restaurant, which Srisak also owns. The space, formerly occupied by The Nile Restaurant, 1162 E. 55th St., will seat around 55.

Hyde Park is “more international now,” Srisak said. “We have Korean, we have [Japanese], we have Thai, but we haven’t seen Vietnamese yet.”

Pho 55’s menu will feature around 40 items, with appetizers costing $5-7 and meals $10-14, Srisak said.
