House Ethics Committee still investigating Bobby Rush

The House Committee on Ethics said last Monday it will continue investigating alleged violations by U.S. Rep Bobby Rush (D-1).

That day, the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE) also released a July report concluding that Rush, who represents most of Hyde Park, has never paid for rent on his campaign office since he joined Congress.

Twenty years in unpaid rent on his campaign office at 3361 S. King Drive amount to more than $365,000, according to the report.

The committee’s decision and OCE report came less than a week after Bobby Rush trounced Republican challenger Jimmy Lee Tillman with more than 70 percent of the vote.
