The Chicago-based non-profit Women’s Business Development Center (WBDC) will host a workshop for women veterans this Wednesday.
The event, part of a citywide series this month entitled “Woman Warrior Wednesdays,” will take place at 6 p.m. on March 18, at the Chicago Innovation Exchange, 1452 E. 53rd St.
The aim is to give women veterans a chance to network while learning about medical, educational and entrepreneurial resources available to them, according to Nicole Mandeville, associate director of Entrepreneurial Programs for WBDC.
Wednesday’s even will feature a presentation from Mandeville as well as information on resources from representatives of various organizations, including the Illinois Department of Veteran Affairs.
“There are lots of resources available to women who have served,” said Mandeville, a Gulf War veteran.
“This is an opportunity to connect with the female veteran population,” she added, “and because it’s Women’s History Month we thought it would be a perfect tie-in.”
