The former Ribs ‘N Bibs building, 5300 S. Dorchester Ave., is currently under construction and will soon be the home of the Hyde Park Taco Station. The restaurant is expected to open in mid-September, according to restaurant owner Edgar Vasquez.
Vasquez describes Hyde Park Taco Station as Mexican fast gourmet street food made from farm-fresh ingredients.
Vasquez, who was involved in the design and launch of Harper Court’s Ja’Grill with Tony Coates, chose Hyde Park as the location for his restaurant because he said the neighborhood has “a great sense of energy.”
Vasquez said, “People in Hyde Park are friendly, approachable and excited, and I couldn’t be more happy to be a part of the community.”
The restaurant will launch this fall, with BYOB service and a liquor license anticipated in summer 2016.
