Seminary Co-Op to host poetry reading

The Seminary Co-Op bookstore, 5751 S. Woodlawn Ave., will host a poetry reading on Thursday, July 21 at 6 p.m. Poets John Koethe and David Trinidad will be reading from their latest works, “The Swimmer” and “Notes on a Past Life.”

Koethe, author of “The Swimmer,” has published nine poetry books and other books on Ludwig Wittgenstein’s philosophy. He is a Distinguished Professor of Philosophy Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and winner of multiple poetry awards including the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize and the Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award.

Trinidad, author of “Notes on a Past Life,” has written several other volumes of poetry as well. He lives in Chicago and teaches at Columbia College. His book details the relationship between outsider and New York City poetry.
