Local artists to sell work at annual art open house

The 46th Annual Art Open House, a neighborhood event that displays the talents of local artists will return on Saturday, Dec. 2.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Hutchins House, 4810 S. Ellis Ave., featured artists include, Aveva Yufit, Linda Erf Swift, Linda Roberts, Penny Paine Nichols, Debra Dancy, Liz Clary, along with guest artists, Pamela Johnson-Howe of Northwind Pottery and Irene Saparnis.

Work from the featured artists for the Art Open House consists of handcrafted pottery, photography, vintage clothing, original quilts, paintings, ornaments, trinket boxes, knitwear, jewelry and much more.

The annual event was established in 1971 by a group of University of Chicago students, and it has been held in the Kenwood neighborhood every holiday season since its inception.
