Kenwood Academy High School senior Naseer “Nas” Turner will play college basketball for the Northern Michigan University Wildcats in the fall of 2018.

Turner was recently signed by the school’s Men’s Basketball team back in April and was added to the team’s upcoming 2018-19 roster.

“We are excited to welcome Nas to the roster. He is a gifted athlete who can run and jump with the best in the Midwest,” said Northern Michigan’s Head Coach Bill Sall on the team’s school website. “Naseer has played at a high level in basketball his entire career. He will bring a high degree of defensive energy and passion to the team.”

Turner, a 6’6″, 210-pound forward who is known for his great leaping ability and tenacious defense, will graduate from Kenwood in June.

Turner was also a member of the Chicago Demons during the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) season. And averaged 10 points and 10 rebounds a game from the wing, including making the 2018 Chicago City-Suburban All-Star team.
