Kenwood LSC selects AP Karen Calloway as new principal

Herald Staff Report

Kenwood Academy High School’s Assistant Principal Karen Calloway has been selected by the Local School Council as the School’s new Principal, according to a member of the council.

The Local School Council began its search for a new principal after the school’s current Principal Dr. Gregory Jones announced on May 2 that he would be leaving the position on Sept. 1 to head The Academy Group, a Chicago-based organization designed to help students from 4th grade through college from underserved communities across the United States excel academically and assist them in obtaining careers in fields that lack leadership diversity.

Calloway has been at Kenwood for about 17 years, nine years as the dean of students and eight years as the assistant principal.
