Hyde Park resident Michelle Flowers Welch’s company The Flowers Communications Group has won several awards from Publicity Club of Chicago during a ceremony held Tuesday, May 22 at the Palmer House Hilton.
The group received two 2018 Golden Trumpet Awards, one award for a Jack Daniel’s public relations campaign and video content work for MillerCoors. The group also received one Silver Trumpet award for video content work for the Chicago Park District and five PRSA Skyline awards for work in multicultural public relations and content management for clients Honda, Jack Daniel’s and the Black McDonald’s Operators Association of Chicago and Northwest Indiana. The group also received the top award in the reputation/brand management category for its own FLOW rebrand campaign.
Flowers Communication, which has been in business for about 27 years,is a national, multicultural communications company based in Chicago. Its mission is to provide quality public relations, social media and integrated marketing services that reach and respect ethnic audiences and align with client partners’ business objectives.
Welch has been an active resident of the Hyde Park community for 30 years. She is a strong supporter of Hyde Park businesses from Cornell Shoe Shop to Treasure Island to the Promontory, where she has held several client events. She also served on the Black Creativity Committee for the Museum of Science and Industry, where she convinced them to focus on multicultural media and their role as messengers in society.
