POLICE BLOTTER July 2 to July 8

The University of Chicago Police listed the following incidents as having occurred between July 2 and July 8.

On Monday, July 2, at 10:51 a.m., the UCPD received a report of a person having “forcibly entered” a van at 1112 E. 60th St. who took tools.

On Wednesday, July 4 at 4:57 a.m., the UCPD received a report of a person who overnight had smashed a window of a vehicle parked at 5851 S. Cottage Grove Ave. and took currency.

On July 4 at 9:55 p.m., two suspects robbed an individual walking at 1403 E. Hyde Park Blvd., taking the individual’s wallet. They fled on foot. Chicago Police are investigating.

On Thursday, July 5 at 3:40 a.m., a patient assaulted a University of Chicago Medical Center employee in the emergency room , 5656 S. Maryland Ave. The UCPD arrested the patient.

On July 5 at 10:46 a.m., a suspect stole a delivery van with keys in the ignition and motor running at 5704 S. Kenwood Ave. The UCPD recovered the van after the suspect abandoned it and fled on foot.
