The University of Chicago Police listed the following incidents as having occurred between July 23 and July 29.

On Friday, July 27, the Chicago Police reported that Exceptceion “Junior” Johnson, 18, who had been reported missing from the 700 East block of 50th Place on Wednesday, July 25, had been located.

The University of Chicago Police Department (UCPD) reported the following incidents between July 23 and 29:

On Monday, July 23 at 3:35 p.m., two suspects riding bicycles took cell phones from the hands of two people walking at 5951 S. Woodlawn Ave.

On Tuesday, July 24 at 7:42 a.m., the UCPD received a report of a shattered window and stolen property from a car parked at 830 E. 56th St., which had occurred sometime between 11:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m.

On July 24 at 10:25 a.m., a UCPD officer assisted a Chicago Police officer in detaining a motorist later arrested and charged for possession of a replica firearm at 5525 S. Cottage Grove Ave.

On July 25 at 1:55 p.m., a suspect soliciting donations distracted a victim at the Plein Air Cafe, 5751 S. Woodlawn Ave., and took his wallet from the tabletop.

On July 25 at 5:40 p.m., a suspect entered an unsecured office at the University of Chicago Bookstore, 970 E. 58th St., and took an unattended money pouch.

On July 25 at 9 p.m., the UCPD observed a suspect who had previously been warned about trespassing on University of Chicago property tampering with bikes at a bike rack at 1105 E. 60th St. The suspect was charged with theft of lost of mislaid property.

On July 25 at 9:25 p.m., the UCPD received a report of a suspect taking a vent panel from a vehicle parked at the Ellis Garage (Campus North Parking), 5505 S. Ellis Ave., sometime between 2:30 p.m. on July 17 and 1:15 p.m. on July 21.

On Thursday, July 26 at 4:22 p.m., the UCPD proved a report of a suspect with a handgun at the University of Chicago (U. of C.) Medical Center’s Parking B garage, 5656 S. Maryland Ave., upon examination of the surveillance video that showed “two people joking and playing around, clearly no weapon involved.”

On July 27 at 10:19 a.m., a UCPD officer detained a suspect at 5228 S. Lake Park Ave., the location of the Ulta Beauty Store and Salon, who took stole merchandise. The Chicago Police arrested the suspect.

On July 27 at 6 p.m., two suspects forced entry into an office at 1501 E. 57th St., the site of Powell’s Books Chicago, and attempted to pry open a cabinet drawer. Chicago Police are investigating.

On Saturday, July 28 at 2:35 p.m., an individual was returning a Divvy bike to a rack at 6027 S. Ellis Ave. when two suspects approached, grabbed the bike and rode off.

On July 28 at 11:10 p.m., the UCPD and Chicago Police responded to calls of a person shot at parking lot at 1561 E. 61st St. The victim, a 35-year-old man, had been shot twice in the upper right arm while sitting in a van in the parking lot by a black male offender who approached the victim from the passenger side. The victim refused to give the police any additional information and was transported in good condition to the U. of C. Medical Center Emergency Room by Chicago Fire Department emergency medical services (CFD EMS). Chicago Police are investigating.

On Sunday, July 29 at 12:28 p.m., three Lyft passengers struct their driver with their fist, took his handgun and fled from 5421 S. Kenwood Ave. in his 2011 four-door Ford. Chicago Police are investigating.

On July 29 at 4:39 p.m., the UCPD and the Chicago Police responded to calls of shots fired and found five shell casings at 1003 E. 61st St. No injured persons nor property damage was found. Chicago Police are investigating.

On July 29 at 11:44 p.m., an individual suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen on the street at 1206 E. 52nd St. and was taken to the U. of C. Medical Center emergency room by CFD EMS. Chicago Police are investigating.
