The University of Chicago Police listed the following incidents as having occurred between July 30 and August 5.

On Tuesday, July 31 at 11:44 a.m., a patient left the cafe at the Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine without paying for food. The suspect was detained by University of Chicago Medical Center staff and arrested by the UCPD.

On Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 12:15 p.m., a woman cut her boyfriend in the face with a box cutter in a vehicle in a parking lot at 1226 E. 53rd St. A UCPD officer detained the suspect, who was arrested by the Chicago Police.

On Friday, Aug. 3 at 1:02 p.m., the UCPD received a report of a suspect having damaged the lock on the rear door of a van parked at 5625 S. Ellis Ave. who took a power drill and laptop.

On Sunday, Aug. 5 at 10:35 a.m., UCPD officers assisted Chicago Police officers in detaining a combative individual on the platform at the 55th–56th–57th Street Metra station, 1520 E. 57th St. The Chicago Police transported the suspect to a hospital for a mental evaluation.
