The University of Chicago Police listed the following incidents as having occurred between August 27 and August 30.

The University of Chicago Police Department reported the following incidents between Aug. 27 and 30.

On Monday, Aug. 27 at 11:13 a.m., an African-American suspect in his 20s approached an individual walking at 5510 S. Woodlawn Ave. from the rear, snatched her iPhone from the victim’s hand and fled westbound on 55th Street on foot. The Chicago Police are investigating; they reported that the suspect had asked the victim for a donation and committed the theft when she was unable to do so.

On Aug. 27 at 10:05 p.m., a suspect took merchandise from Open Produce, 1635 E. 55th St., without paying. A UCPD officer detained the suspect, but the retailer declined to prosecute.

On Thursday, Aug. 30 at 1:24 a.m., a UCPD officer assisted the Chicago Police in locating a subject wanted for theft from vehicles. The Chicago Police arrested the suspect adn recovered the proceeds.
