The University of Chicago Police Department (UCPD) reported the following incidents between Nov. 19 and Nov. 25.

On Monday, Nov. 19, at 2:39 a.m., an underage individual became ill after consuming alcoholic beverages and was transported from the Campus North Residential Commons, 5500 S. University Ave., to the University of Chicago (U. of C.) Medical Center by Chicago Fire Department (CFD) emergency medical services (EMS).

On Nov. 19 at 11 a.m., there was a reported assault at the Center for Care and Discovery, 5700 S. Maryland Ave., later reported to be under investigation.

On Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 12:26 p.m., staff members at the Obama Foundation, 5235 S. Harper Ave., responded to a receipt of several suspicious packages, described as envelopes. The Chicago Police, CFD and the FBI were notified and responded, causing traffic disruptions on 53rd Street in downtown Hyde Park. The items were all rendered safe.

On Nov. 20 at 11:29 p.m., an underage individual became ill after consuming alcoholic beverages and was transported from the Granville–Grossman Residential Commons, 6031 S. Ellis Ave., to the U. of C. Medical Center by CFD EMS.

On Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 8:50 a.m., a patient at the Comer Children’s Hospital, 5721 S. Maryland Ave., threw water on her boyfriend over the course of an argument; he declined prosecution.

On Friday, Nov. 23, at 8:23 p.m., the Chicago Police responded to the UCPD holding Floyd Hale, 63, of the 4600 North block of Clifton Avenue, who was observed tampering with and causing damage to a city boot on a vehicle at 1155 E. 52nd St. He was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal damage to property.

On Saturday, Nov. 24, at 2 p.m., two suspects forcibly took cash from a victim walking at 1415 E. 52nd St. They fled on foot. The Chicago Police are investigating.

On Nov. 24 at 4:23 p.m., two offenders, described as black men, were observed taking merchandise from a store on the 5200 South block of Lake Park Avenue without paying. When a store employee tried to intervene, a suspect implied he had a weapon. They fled southbound in a white Ford. No one is in custody; the Chicago Police are investigating.

On Nov. 24 at 7:06 p.m., two suspects, described as black men, approached a 19-year-old male victim on the 5401 S. University Ave. One suspect grabbed the victim by the collar and the other by the shoulders; they implied they had a weapon and demanded property, and the victim complied. The suspects fled in an unknown direction; none is in custody. The victim reported no injuries. The Chicago Police are investigating.

On Sunday, Nov. 25, at 7:16 a.m., an unauthorized individual who ignored repeated commands to leave the U. of C. Medical Center emergency room, 5656 S. Maryland Ave., was detained my Medical Center security and arrested by the UCPD.
