The University of Chicago Police Department (UCPD) reported the following incidents between Dec. 28 and Jan. 6.

On Friday, Dec. 28, at 12:10 p.m., a suspect struck his girlfriend with his fist on the 55th–56th–57th Street Metra Electric and South Shore lines station platform, 1520 E. 57th St. UCPD officers detained the suspect and turned him over to the Metra Police, who arrested him for domestic battery.

On Dec. 28, at 12:45 p.m., a suspect causing a disturbance at a restaurant at 1449 E. 57th St., the location of Subway, ignored previous warnings not to trespass on the property and was arrested by the UCPD.

On Saturday, Dec. 29, at 1 a.m., a suspect, described as a black man 18 to 25 years old, entered a car while its owner, 71, checked tires at a gas station at 5048 S. Cornell Ave., the location of BP, and drove off. No one is in custody; the Chicago Police are investigating.

On Dec. 29 at 11:45 a.m., a visitor at the Bernard A. Mitchell Hospital, 5841 S. Maryland Ave., struck two University of Chicago Medical Center safety officers and was arrested by the UCPD.

On Dec. 29 at 6:35 p.m., a suspect, described as a black man aged 18 to 20 years old who was armed with a handgun, took property from 15-year-old boy walking on the sidewalk at 1431 E. Hyde Park Blvd. The Chicago Police are investigating.

On Sunday, Dec. 30, at 4:46 a.m., the UCPD received a report of an unknown person or persons who smashed a glass door of a business on the 1400 East block of 57th Street and took a bicycle. No one is in custody; the Chicago Police are investigating.

On Monday, Dec. 31, at 7:50 a.m., a boyfriend struck his girlfriend with his hands at 5630 S. Drexel Ave. and was arrested by the UCPD.

On Wednesday, Jan. 2, at 7:44 a.m., an unauthorized suspect who ignored several previous warnings not to trespass on private property was arrested by the UCPD at 1421 E. 53rd St.

On Saturday, Jan. 5, at 9:24 p.m., a UCPD officer arrested a motorist for a DUI at 810 E. 55th St.
