The University of Chicago Police Department (UCPD) reported the following incidents between June 3 and June 9.

On Tuesday, June 4, at 3:31 p.m., police received a report of a catalytic converter having been stolen from a vehicle parked in the lot at 6000 S. Stony Island Ave.

On June 4 at 9:23 p.m., a UCPD officer arrested a motorist for a DUI at 5358 S. Blackstone Ave.

On Wednesday, June 5 at 9:15 a.m., police received a report of a catalytic converter having been stolen from a vehicle parked in the lot at 6000 S. Stony Island Ave.

On June 5 at 11:17 p.m., a victim’s ex-boyfriend confronted her and demanded house keys. When she refused, he pushed her and stole her purse that contained the keys and drove off from 1307 E. 60th St. He later returned the property to the victim’s family.

On Friday, June 7, at 10:06 p.m., a UCPD officer arrested a motorist for a DUI at 6059 S. Cottage Grove Ave.

On Sunday, June 9, at 6:09 p.m., a UCPD officer detained a thief for stealing a jacket at 5859 S. Cottage Grove Ave., though the victim refused to sign the complaint. The suspect was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center for a mental evaluation.
