The University of Chicago Police Department (UCPD) reported the following incidents as having occurred between June 17 and June 24.

On Monday, June 17, at 3:13 p.m., Chicago and U. of C. police responded to a shots-fired call at 805 E. 56th St.; windows in an unattended, parked vehicle were shattered, police found one shell casing and no injuries were reported. The Chicago Police are investigating.
On Wednesday, June 19, Chicago and U. of C. police responded to a call of a man with a gun at 1750 E. 55th St., the location of the Cove Lounge. Mitchell Lee, 32 of Bronzeville, entered the establishment and harassed a woman inside. Lee was asked to leave; he complied but returned a short time later with a weapon, after which several witnesses attempted to disarm him. Lee was able to grab the weapon and run from the premises, but the UCPD eventually apprehended him and recovered the weapon. No injuries were reported.
On June 19 at 4:24 p.m., a patient at the U. of C. Medical Center, 5656 S. Maryland Ave., struck a staffer with his fist, was arrested by the UCPD and charged with felony aggravated battery.
On Friday, June 21, at 1 p.m., UCPD officers arrested 2 thieves at 933 E. 56th St. for stealing a bicycle.
On June 21 at 8:47 p.m., a UCPD officer arrested a motorist for possession of narcotics subsequent to a traffic stop at 1400 E. 55th St.
On Saturday, June 22, at 11:56 a.m., a UCPD officer arrested a suspect for possession of fictitious license plates during a traffic violation stop at 5343 S. Cornell Ave.
On June 22 at 11:01 p.m., a trespasser was arrested for trespassing at the John Crerar Library, 5730 S. Ellis Ave., and interfering with a public officer.
On Monday, June 24, at 10 a.m., a victim walking at 5700 S. Ellis Ave. was approached from behind by a suspect and pushed to the ground; the would-be robber attempted to take the victim’s cell phone and eventually ran eastbound on 57th Street and into a waiting maroon 2017 Hyundai Elantra four-door sedan with Missouri license plates, BB5S8J. The victim reported no physical injuries.
