The University of Chicago Police Department (UCPD) reported the following incidents between July 22 and July 28.

On Wednesday, July 24, at 11:08 a.m., a UCPD officer detained a suspect wanted for trespassing on private property on the 5300 South block of Blackstone Avenue, though the property owner declined to prosecute.
On July 24 at 10:10 p.m., a contractor’s golf cart was stolen by an unknown thief from 1126 E. 59th St.
On Saturday, July 27, at 1:42 p.m. a suspect slapped a victim during the course of an argument and was arrested by the UCPD at the Center for Care and Discovery, 5700 S. Maryland Ave.
On July 27 at 3:45 p.m., two men, 43 and 29, standing on the sidewalk at 5358 S. Maryland Ave. suffered gunshot wounds when shots were fired from a white passing vehicle. The 43-year-old sustained wounds to the left arm and back, while the 29-year-old was shot in the left forearm and right thigh; both were transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in stable condition. No one is in custody, and Area Central Detectives are investigating.
On Sunday, July 28, at 2:16 a.m., two robbers approached a woman walking to her car at 5344 S. Kimbark Ave., displayed handguns and demanded her belongings. She gave them her purse, and they fled westbound on 54th Street in a vehicle. No one is in custody, and Area Central Detectives are investigating.
On July 28 at 11 p.m., four suspects, all armed with handguns, emerged from a dark-colored SUV and a dark-colored sedan and approached two victims parking their red Honda CRV at 4859 S. Ellis Ave..The robbers demanded the victims’ possessions; they complied, including their keys to the Honda. The offenders got into the Honda and fled northbound on Ellis Avenue, with the other two vehicles following. No one is in custody, and Area Central Detectives are investigating.
